Thank you for inquiring about our wedding policies. We offer our beautiful, historic 1810 sea Captain’s home & grounds for your service, reception & overnight accommodation of wedding party guests. We are a small inn with the charm & air of years gone by. There is outdoor space for weddings of a maximum of 85 to 100 people. For ceremonies that may occur elsewhere (such as the beautiful Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, just down the street), we offer accommodations to the wedding party & can house 18-24 guests. Please read the policies below & feel free to contact us with your questions, or to schedule an on-site visit:
- Both on-site & off-site weddings require that you take the whole house. Minimum stays apply, depending on the time of year, as posted on our website http://www.hodgdonislandinn.com under “Packages”. We have 9 comfortably appointed rooms.
- Group Reservation & Cancellation Policies apply: 50% deposit for the first 2 rooms, with full refund less $25 re-booking fee when 14 days notice is given; 50% non-refundable deposit for additional rooms 3-9. In order to place rooms on hold, you must make the required deposit. If your guests will be paying for their own rooms, credit will be issued after all individual registrations have been received.
- Registering guests for rooms: We must be provided with a complete list of guests whom you expect to stay at the inn. If you are paying for their stay, complete registration information will be needed (name, address, contact phone, number in party, special needs for size & number of beds). We have 5 King & 4 Queen beds. A limited number of additional Twin beds are possible in certain rooms. Our room rate reflects double occupancy & includes a full breakfast, served buffet style. There is a $25 per day fee for each additional person, and a $25 per day Splitting Fee for King beds requested split to Twins (3 rooms have Kings which split). Busy Season & Quiet Season rates apply. There is no refund for early check-outs & no transfer of 3rd day as credit to another room. All reservations must happen over the same block of days, whether weekends or weekdays. The maximum house occupancy is 24, infants & children counted. We are a small inn with somewhat limited space therefore, only registered guests & a maximum of 10 people for “informal drop-ins” may be on site at times other than the ceremony & reception.
- We charge a Facilities Fee, which varies depending on whether your wedding is on-site or off-site & the minimum stay requirement. This fee is non-refundable, in whole or in part. The Facilities fee covers the use of the house & grounds; the added labor required for large groups; the provision of “small miracles” (solving problems that might not occur to you, or which happen unexpectedly); minor damages to the rooms, common areas, or grounds (not to exceed $200); hosting; and communications /coordination with your Wedding Planner & others: On-site, 3 days, $1,100; On-site, 2 days, $850. Off-site, 3 days, $850; Off-site, 2 days, $600.

For on-site weddings, we do require that you have a Wedding Planner or designated responsible party to arrange such things as tents, flooring, catering, parking, limousine, flowers etc. We are happy to assist with recommendations for these services.
