crystal clear water”

Step inside our sea captain’s home & you’ll find that it retains many of her beautiful architectural details, an imposing Italian marble mantle & the warmth & charm of days gone by. The Hodgdon
Island Inn is our home. We invite you as guests & friends to share in her
beauty. We do not pretend to be a big hotel. We hope that you will accept our
hospitality in the spirit in which it is intended; that your stay will be
relaxing & restful; that you will enjoy the food, the grounds & the fun of
meeting new people. If you are seeking an unpretentious, quieter place,
comfortable & homey, yet still nearby all of the local activities, you will not
be disappointed.

A/C, 600-count sheets with lace tops & private bath with plush spa towels
& quality toiletries. All rooms on the second floor have electric
fireplaces for added ambiance & warmth, if desired. Two rooms, Cove View &
Sea Spray have balconies. Two others, The Chestnut Room & The State Room,
have bay windows with seating in the bay overlooking the front water.
Every room has a shawl or throw to snuggle up in or wear about the inn, &
a scented jar candle & bedside candies. We want you to feel at home. Enjoy
the comfort of your room, the parlor, dining area, veranda, grounds,
garden path & pool. We are delighted to share our home with you!.

"Thank you very much for making
our stay at your most beautiful home a memorable one. The room was
gorgeous & furnished so nice and clean. Both of you sitting on the porch &
talking with us made us feel like part of your family. Your home cooking
was great & I could smell the cookies upstairs..." |
|

"We loved every minute of our stay
here- and everything about it. Rarely have we been so thoughtfully taken
care of. The country-side can be endlessly roamed, & the food endlessly
eaten!" |
The
Neighborhood
Aside from our close proximity to all the
activities offered in the Boothbay Region, The Hodgdon Island Inn also offers
many activities within walking distance. You can watch one of only two remaining manually operated swing bridges
~. It’s just next door! Grab something to eat at the Trevett County Store
where lobster and seafood are served fresh from Maine's cold salt waters. Enjoy
it on their deck across the street, or bring it back to the inn where you have
full use of the dining room, porch & grounds. The Hodgdon Island Inn is the
closest B&B inn to the new Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, the largest
botanical gardens in the U.S.! ~ 248 acres of trails & beauty. Across the
bridge, on Barter's Island, enjoy a nature walk in Porter's Preserve or at
Schoolhouse Pond (Boothbay Harbor Land Trust lands are open year round for low
impact activities) or hike Gregory's Trail (Sawyer's Island), just minutes away.
